Motors
This course will give the student a basic understanding of both DC and AC rotating machines. Students will gain a working knowledge of motors both in theory, construction types and basic operating principles. This course covers single-phase as well as 3-phase motor types. (Note: While it is possible to learn the theory of electric motors via self-paced correspondence, we highly recommend you consider the classroom version of this course in order to take advantage of the hands-on labs offered).
The in-class version of this course cannot be purchased alone, but is only offered in conjunction with the purchase of the in-person Journeyman program.
This 45-Hour Course is approved by the State of Maine Electrical Examination Board.
Required Materials:
- Scientific Calculator (capable of SIN, COS, TAN functions)
- The student is required to have their own copy of the NEC book for this course.
Prerequisites: Basic Electricity I, Basic Electricity II
